Brazil hosted National Championships Elite and Youth
Some of the Elite winners will have the next stop at the Olympic test in Rio in December

The Brazilian Boxing Federation held on Saturday 11/14 the finals of the 70th Brazilian Male Elite Championship and 7th Brazilian Youth Championship in the city of Aracaju.

After seven days of intense competition with over 160 bouts the 70th Brazilian Elite Champions were crowned. 

The 100 athletes had already gone through a trial by fire when they had participate in regional selective for the chance to represent their states in the Championship.

The Youth category with 97 new promising athletes who have dedicated themselves for months to give their best and they had the opportunity to shine in the hard-fought bouts. 

"We had great bouts that showed the evolution of our sport nationwide.” Said Mauro Silva, Brazil Boxing Federation President.

Twenty Brazilian states prepared their athletes and brought them to Aracaju to show the work done in another year of dedicated training. 

What's Next for the Elite Boxers?

At the end of the week 11/20 male and female elite boxers will know the names who will represent their country in the Olympic test to take place during the week of December 8th in Rio de Janeiro.
